Meet the cast of the new Harry Potter series
Harry, Ron and Hermione

Starting with the main trio, young Dominic McLaughlin was cast as Harry Potter. He is a Scottish actor who is only 11 years old and began his training at the Performance Academy Scotland. Despite his young age, he has already participated in a production of the play Macbeth, acting alongside big names such as Indira Varma and Ralph Fiennes. In addition, Dominic is confirmed to be in the cast of the film Grow and the BBC series Gifted, both scheduled for 2025.
The one who will play Hermione Granger is Arabella Stanton, also 11 years old. She comes from musical theater and has already shone on the West End stages in London. Arabella was the lead in the production of Matilda The Musical between 2023 and 2024 and, more recently, played the character Control in the show Starlight Express.
The role of Ron Weasley went to Alastair Stout, another young British boy of around 11 years old. Unlike his co-stars, Alastair has no previous acting experience, having only done an advertising campaign for a potato brand called Albert Bartlett. The series will mark his screen debut.
Albus Dumbledore-John Lithgow

Among the teachers, the name that caught the most attention was that of veteran John Lithgow, who will play Albus Dumbledore. At 79 years old, the American actor has won several awards, including Emmys, and has acclaimed work on The Crown and Dexter, as well as an Oscar nomination. Lithgow has already stated that he understands the weight of playing Dumbledore and is even taking classes with a British accent coach to prepare for the role.

A veteran of stage and television, Bertie Carvel — seen in The Sister and Baghdad — takes on the role of Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge, bringing his signature style and commanding presence to the screen.
Petunia Dursley- Bel Powley

Known for her work in A Small Light and The Morning Show, the talented Bel Powley plays Harry's comparison-prone sister, Petunia Dursley. A promising dramatic choice.
Vernon Dursley/ Daniel Rigby
